The below “Online Learning Tools Panel Refresh” application was completed 1 week ago by Handwritingbot. It is now estimated to be assessed by 18th December 2025 through the NSW Department of Education and Training. You can still use handwritingbot by hot spotting from your phone.

29-6-25 NSW cybersecurity team advised us that the “Online Learning Tools Panel Refresh” supersedes the original questionnaire/assessment submitted last month. This new application has been submitted and will be assessed in 2-3 weeks.

On 29 June, NSW Cybersecurity team advised that Handwritingbot is scheduled for assessment and may take up to 1 month (29-6-25). They advised there are over 200 other applications waiting but that handwritingbot would be prioritised.

We have made direct contact with the NSW Cybersecurity Department  and are liasing with them. We should be back and running again in NSW public schools soon!

We are actively working towards having HandwritingBot unblocked within NSW government schools; however, this process is ongoing.

In the meantime, teachers can continue using HandwritingBot by hotspotting from a personal device (it appears that the departmentโ€™s restrictions are specifically targeted at student access). We are also pursuing the immediate removal of the block on teacher logins; however, navigating this process has been challenging without principal-level access to departmental communication channels. Student access will be a longer process of accreditation as outlined later in this email.

To address these concerns, we have also initiated the application process for the Safe Technology for Schools (ST4S) accreditation
